XICA's code of conduct, "XICA WAY," is a "wish" we send to our members.

In 2020, the new "XICA WAY" was formulated

Based on the new vision and mission, the XICA WAY was defined by imagining "the ideal image of a member 15 years from now (in 2035, when the vision is aimed to be achieved)."

In this article, I would like to explain why I want all XICA members to embody the XICA WAY.

XICA WAY is XICA's code of conduct

The XICA WAY is not a set of values ​​or a culture, but a set of "action guidelines." Therefore, it is an expression that places more importance on "practicality" than on "beauty as words."

The XICA WAY was conceived by four members of the management team. There were two things that we valued when deciding on the XICA WAY. The first was "practicality." It wasn't just something in our minds, but something that could be put into practice as concrete action. The second was "consistent interpretation." In order to prevent interpretations that differ from the original purpose from arising, we avoided expressions that could be interpreted in a wide range.

XICA WAY covers all the skills necessary for talent development

There are a total of 12 XICA WAYs. Some people may think that's too many.

The reason for this number is that we wanted to cover all the abilities necessary to realize your talent development without any omissions. We created the list of abilities that people who have developed their talents would embody in a more practical way and with less room for interpretation, so we came up with 12.

If even one piece of XICA WAY is missing, it will become distorted.

For example, even if you are always striving to hone your strengths, boldly taking on high goals, and putting "01. Love of challenges" into practice, if you do not put "09. Respect & Encourage" into practice, and seek your own success even at the expense of team members, or continually deny the opinions of your teammates, believing that you are the only one who is right, then neither you nor the team will be able to succeed.

It is important to continue challenging yourself to improve your strengths, but at the same time, it is also important to ask yourself, "What ways am I lacking right now?" and make an effort to fill the gap between your ideal and your current level. It is not enough to be strong in some ways, but rather I want you to aim to practice all ways in a balanced way.

First, imagine your ideal

"The law is a wish"

I was inspired by the manga "Kingdom" and I value this way of thinking.

When we hear the word "law," many of us may have a strong impression of "rules," and imagine something that restricts freedom or acts as a precaution to prevent wrongdoing. However, we think of the law not as a rule, but as a "wish."

Before we created the code of conduct for XICA, we envisioned the ideal: what kind of company do we want to be? What kind of people are in that company? And what do we want those people to become? This ideal is the "wish" of us, the management team.

In 2017, XICA experienced a large turnover of employees. The number of members was reduced by about half. This was due to the inability to fully share the same direction and values ​​amid the expansion and structural changes of the organization. As I watched my colleagues leave, growing increasingly distrustful of XICA, I was overcome with regret, wondering, "What could I have left for them?"

This bitter experience made me even more determined to help the people I work with grow.

XICA WAY is for the development of the talents of XICA members.

All of our management team strongly hope that "those who have entrusted a part of their precious lives to XICA will be able to grow through their days here."

The roots of our company name, XICA, lie in the idea of ​​"talent blossoming." The word "XICA," which means "talent that is brilliantly revealed to the outside world," is the origin of our company name.

The "development of talent" that we value is a state in which each and every one of you is able to fully utilize your potential. Believe in your own potential, have the will to take on challenges, and make an effort. By making the XICA WAY your guide to action in this process of developing your talent, you will be able to get closer to developing your talent.
