XICA launches "XICA MARKETING SCIENCE LAB" to explore "optimal decision-making" in marketing

XICA Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshiaki Hirao; hereinafter referred to as XICA) is pleased to announce the launch of "XICA MARKETING SCIENCE LAB," a community dedicated to exploring "optimal decision-making" in marketing.

Background of establishment 

​​​We at XICA have been developing a marketing support business centered on data science for over 2012 years since 10. While we deeply feel the impact of using data science in business, we also deeply understand that "data" is not an all-purpose tool for continuing to win in business. 

 How and in what situations should data science be used? 

We are still exploring this question, but we are fortunate to have over 250 clients who are at the forefront of data-driven marketing using our solutions. 

Together with our clients and the many marketers who aim to realize data-driven marketing, we would like to continue our quest for "optimal decision-making in marketing" by sharing and discussing cutting-edge information and success stories on data-driven marketing. 

With this in mind, we have decided to launch the XICA MARKETING SCIENCE LAB (hereinafter, MS Lab). 

For a long time, various decision-making processes related to marketing strategies and tactics have relied on "experience" and "intuition." We believe that by utilizing data science, it is possible to quantitatively grasp all marketing activities and evolve them into evidence-based, reproducible decision-making. 

At MS Lab, we hope to share success stories and the latest examples of data-driven marketing at seminars and through discussions within the community, discovering new insights and know-how with you to solve marketing challenges, beyond the knowledge that XICA possesses. 

Features of "XICA MARKETING SCIENCE LAB" 

  1. Exploring ways to solve marketing problems using data science 

Data science is an approach that uses mathematics, statistics, machine learning, programming, and other fields to derive useful insights from data. 

Since the dawn of data science (the 2010s), XICA has been exploring the possibilities of data science, aiming to evolve marketing and innovate the industry through its products and consulting. 

As a professional data science company, MS Labs shares cutting-edge data science knowledge, information, and success stories that will lead to business success. 

  1. Deepening discussion through two-way discussion 

"XICA MARKETING SCIENCE LAB" consists of two parts: a seminar and a lab. 

In the first half of the event, the "Seminar," we will invite data science practitioners and experts active in a variety of fields to share cutting-edge information and success stories on data-driven marketing, going beyond the knowledge and expertise held by XICA. 

In the second half of the event, in the "Lab" section, we will explore the use of data science in marketing and "optimal decision-making" in more depth through discussion between the speakers and attendees. 

  1. A place for marketers to interact and lead the evolution of the marketing industry 

MS Lab will be held offline in principle. In addition, we will also have an information exchange session (social gathering) during the meeting to allow participants to deepen their interactions. 

This is a forum for discussions aimed at solving marketing issues as a whole, rather than just focusing on individual strategies, so it attracts particularly professional marketers from major companies at the forefront of marketing. 

It can also be used as a new forum for interaction between those who are driving the evolution of marketing. 

"XICA MARKETING SCIENCE LAB"Announcement of the first event 

At the first MS Lab event to be held on Thursday, August 8th, we will invite Takeshi Baba, General Manager of Brand and Communications at KDDI, to talk about the data-driven marketing communication optimization methods that KDDI is working on. 

Marketers aim to optimize advertising communications to drive business results, and consider what actions to take while tracking various indicators on a daily basis. However, how do each indicator lead to business results such as purchases? Not many companies have been able to clarify the structure of their marketing. 

Increased favorability leads to increased sales - is this hypothesis correct? 

We will hear from KDDI about their latest case study, in which they are verifying these hypotheses using MMM (Marketing Mix Modeling) to optimize their marketing communications in a data-driven manner.
