XICA appoints Takashi Nawa, professor at Kyoto University of Advanced Science and Hitotsubashi University Business School, as senior advisor
Combining Nawa's knowledge of corporate transformation with data science to strengthen support for realizing a growth spiral
SAICA Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshiaki Hirao; hereinafter referred to as SAICA) is pleased to announce that Takashi Nawa (Professor at Kyoto University of Advanced Science and Visiting Professor at Hitotsubashi Business School), a leading expert in corporate transformation, has been appointed as Senior Advisor. Drawing on his knowledge of corporate transformation, Mr. Nawa will promote the strengthening of SAICA's solutions and the development of consultant talent, dramatically increasing the reproducibility of client companies' success in achieving a growth spiral.

Background to the appointment as Senior Advisor
As a data science firm that utilizes data science and consulting, XICA provides solutions to its client companies, primarily enterprises, that create a growth spiral that allows them to "continue to win" in business.

Mr. Nawa, who has recently been appointed Senior Advisor to SAICA, has been active as a management consultant for many years, and currently serves as a professor at a business school, an outside director and senior advisor to numerous major companies, where he has worked on corporate transformation from a variety of perspectives and systematized his practical knowledge. One representative example of this is the "Mobius Model," which systematizes a framework for companies to generate sustainable innovation.
Going forward, XICA will incorporate Mr. Nawa's knowledge, as exemplified by the Mobius model, and will strengthen the following two initiatives, centered on "corporate transformation x data science."
Solution Enhancements
CYCA utilizes data science, including technology to elucidate market and customer mechanisms (*1) and a unique AI utilization scheme (*2), to help companies realize a growth spiral. By combining Mr. Nawa's knowledge of corporate transformation with CYCA's data science, we aim to strengthen various solutions for the "growth spiral" and enable client companies to realize corporate transformation with a higher degree of reproducibility in order to "continue to win."
*1: A technology that uses data science to quantitatively and structurally reveal the mechanisms by which markets and customers move, such as the mechanisms by which consumers choose brands and the mechanisms by which marketing investments affect business results.
*2: Patent pending
Strengthening consultant talent development
Based on Mr. Nawa's knowledge, we will build a training system for consultants that cultivates advanced skills that contribute to corporate transformation, such as understanding customers in light of organizational DNA, defining customer value, and building business and delivery models. By doing so, we aim to steadily produce professionals who combine "corporate transformation x data science."

Comments on assuming the position:
During my 35 years of experience as a management consultant, I have supported numerous companies in their innovation and company-wide transformation. Japanese companies are a treasure trove of "takumi" (skills) that are becoming increasingly rare in the age of AI. If we can systematize this, we can achieve unprecedented growth with scale and speed.
With its data science capabilities, XICA will accelerate the creation of "takumi no shikumi" (systems of skill) and dramatically improve corporate value. As a result, I sincerely hope that Japanese companies will leap to the forefront of the global market.
Comment from President and CEO Yoshiaki Hirao
What should be done to help clients create a "winning organization"? Of all the people I have met, no one has systematized this "model" as clearly as Nawa.
By combining Nawa's deep knowledge of corporate transformation with the data science that XICA has honed, I am confident that corporate transformation can evolve from something that only a few geniuses can achieve to a reproducible standard that anyone can achieve.
CYCA's mission is to "deliver insights from all data," and we aim to create a society where anyone can freely use data to achieve reproducible success. With Nawa's participation, we will accelerate the development of talent in all companies and create a major impact that will ultimately strengthen Japan.
