"Advertising Week Asia 2024"about
"Advertising Week" is one of the world's largest premier marketing and communications events, covering areas such as advertising, media, CR and marketing.
First held in New York in 2004, it has been held annually in major cities around the world, attracting approximately 16 advertising and business professionals throughout the year.
The Asian version of this event is "Advertising Week Asia." First held in 2016, this year will be the 9th time it has been held and will be held for four days from September 9th (Tuesday) to September 17th (Friday) in the Roppongi area of Tokyo, centered around the Tokyo American Club.
Advertising Week Asia brings together the latest knowledge from a wide range of industries under the theme of "Creativity excites industries," and every year, more than 250 outstanding leading speakers from Japan and around the world take to the stage, with over 100 sessions and events held (2023 results). Another feature is that it covers a wide range of topics, from work style reform, women's leadership, and culture.
Due to the impact of COVID-2020, the event was held online from 2021 to 19, but in 2022 it will be held in a hybrid format combining in-person and online events, and this year it will continue to be held in a hybrid format.

About the session in which XICA will be speaking
XICA will be holding a session titled "The future of TV media will be created by data science!? ~How to make the most of TV~" on Wednesday, September 9th from 18:14-00:15.
Television broadcasting in Japan began at the NHK Tokyo Television Station in 1953, and celebrated its 70th anniversary last year. Television has long had a major impact on society and people, and is also indispensable for advertisers.
However, in recent years, the media environment has changed and TV ratings have been declining. Does this mean that the value of TV has decreased?
We at XICA have supported the marketing of over 270 clients to date. We feel that television has effects that cannot be explained by viewer ratings alone. There may be many people in the advertising industry and marketers who feel that there are "unexplainable effects" other than viewer ratings.
In this session, we will introduce an attempt to elucidate this "unexplainable effect" using data science. What is the key to maximizing the results of programs and commercials distributed through the television media? We will discuss how media and advertisers can make the most of television.
